A Guide to Netflix June Arrival

[Editor's note: The following contains minor spoilers for Hannibal.]

It felt like this day would never come, but hooray! As of June 1, all three seasons of the Bryan Fuller series Hannibal are now available on Netflix. Airing on NBC from 2013 to 2015, the Hannibal TV series serves as a kind of prequel to The Silence of the Lambs, incorporating characters (and occasionally changing their fates) from the Thomas Harris novels Red Dragon, Hannibal, and Hannibal Rising. The series starred Hugh Dancy as criminal profiler Will Graham, Mads Mikkelsen as the dapper cannibal-in-sheep's-clothing Dr. Hannibal Lecter, and Laurence Fishburne as Jack Crawford, Behavioral Sciences head at the FBI.

One of the most sterling elements of Hannibal is its cast. Since it's been about five years since Hannibal wrapped in August 2015, there is a good chance you may have forgotten who some of the key characters are and who they are played by. Well, fear not! Because we have the complete guide to each of the characters you need to know about as you either revisit all three seasons of Hannibal or watch them for the first time. There are some spoilers ahead for various characters, but we promise not to spoil how each character's arc on the show concludes.

Keep reading for all the info you need on the Hannibal cast and characters. Hannibal Seasons 1 to 3 are available on Netflix. Get even more info on all the new Netflix June arrivals here.

Will Graham (Hugh Dancy)

First Appearance: "Apéritif" (Season 1, Episode 1)

Last Appearance: "The Wrath of the Lamb" (Season 3, Episode 13)

Hugh Dancy (Homeland, The Jane Austen Book Club) plays Will Graham, an FBI criminal profiler and gifted hunter of serial killers. While no official diagnosis is named on the series, it's no secret Will possess a special (and frequently disturbing) knack for assuming the viewpoint of a killer in order to form a criminal profile. His skills become invaluable to Jack Crawford, who recruits him to consult on the Minnesota Shrike case and eventually begins assisting on numerous other investigations. Will's bond with Lecter grows in complex and dangerous directions throughout the show, with Lecter encouraging the more sinister sides of Will to manifest and threaten Will's standing with his FBI colleagues. As the show progresses, Will eventually becomes convinced Lecter is more of a criminal than he lets on, remaining undeterred in catching Lecter despite ongoing suspicion from Crawford and his team.

Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen)

First Appearance: "Apéritif" (Season 1, Episode 1)

Last Appearance: "The Wrath of the Lamb" (Season 3, Episode 13)

Mads Mikkelsen (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Doctor Strange) plays the one and only Dr. Hannibal Lecter. A refined man of particular tastes, Lecter is a true gourmand and skilled psychiatrist by day and cannibal serial killer by night. He is also extremely skilled at presenting as nothing but a trusted academic, slowly ingratiating himself with Will Graham, Jack Crawford, and Crawford's team. As suspicions begin to arise over Lecter's true nature in Seasons 2 and 3, he begins to embrace and showcase his true nature to particular characters, either turning them into his victims or seeking to control him. His relationship to Will Graham also grows more complex with every episode as the show makes the two characters into two sides of the same coin, weaving their fates together in a twisty and surprising way.

Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne)

First Appearance: "Apéritif" (Season 1, Episode 1)

Last Appearance: "The Wrath of the Lamb" (Season 3, Episode 13)

Laurence Fishburne (Black-ish, The Matrix) plays Jack Crawford, head of the Behavioral Sciences Unit at the FBI. Jack is a steely, by-the-book operator as he oversees various grisly murders which take place across the nation. Jack is responsible for recruiting Will Graham onto his team in Season 1 during the Minnesota Shrike case and remains a close advisor of Will's (to varying degrees of success) over the course of the series. Jack is haunted by what he believes is the kidnapping and murder of former FBI trainee Miriam Lass (Anna Chlumsky) at the hands of the Chesapeake Ripper. In Season 2, Jack's suspicion over the true identity of the Ripper (no spoilers!) leads to him crossing paths with the suspect and sustaining serious injuries.

Alana Bloom (Caroline Dhavernas)

First Appearance: "Apéritif" (Season 1, Episode 1)

Last Appearance: "The Wrath of the Lamb" (Season 3, Episode 13)

Caroline Dhavernas (Wonderfalls, Mary Kills People) plays Dr. Alana Bloom, a psychology professor, FBI consultant, and former student of Dr. Lecter's. Bloom is responsible for recommending Lecter to Jack Crawford as the latter seeks to bring in a specialist to monitor Will Graham during Graham's time on Crawford's team. Alana is also a friend (and brief love interest) for Will in Season 1 before beginning a relationship with Margot Verger in Season 3. Over the course of Hannibal's run, Alana undergoes a transformation as she becomes more entwined with the darker side of Lecter, defending him from accusations of criminal behavior while also trying to deal with the accusations Will faces. Alana is also, briefly, Mason Verger's psychiatrist in Season 3, falling under his control as she believes they are working together to catch Lecter after she accepts Lecter may actually be a #NotSoGoodGuy. Don't worry about Alana, though, because she, Margot, and their son are able to embrace a happy ending together after being put through absolute hell toward the end of Season 3.

Beverly Katz (Hettienne Park)

First Appearance: "Apéritif" (Season 1, Episode 1)

Last Appearance: "Mukozuke" (Season 2, Episode 5)

Hettienne Park plays Beverly Katz, a crime scene investigator and key member of Jack Crawford's team, specializing in fiber analysis. Beverly is highly intelligent, observing much more than she lets on. She often takes the lead in crime scene analysis, with her insights on various scenes proving integral in Will's profiling of a killer and the subsequent arrest of a suspect. By Season 2, Beverly begins to question both Will and Dr. Lecter as their respective behavior becomes shadier and shadier. Beverly ultimately ends up becoming a victim of Lecter's as she draws closer to the truth about his nature, with her death serving as one of the most shocking departures of the series.

Jimmy Price (Scott Thompson)

First Appearance: "Apéritif" (Season 1, Episode 1)

Last Appearance: "The Wrath of the Lamb" (Season 3, Episode 13)

Scott Thompson (The Kids in the Hall, The Simpsons) plays Jimmy Price, a crime scene investigator and key team member working under Jack Crawford. Well-read and specializing in latent fingerprints, Jimmy is an invaluable member of Crawford's team. He also never misses the chance to provide some comedic relief, just like his colleague Brian Zeller.

Brian Zeller (Aaron Abrams)

First Appearance: "Apéritif" (Season 1, Episode 1)

Last Appearance: "The Wrath of the Lamb" (Season 3, Episode 13)

Aaron Abrams (The Lovebirds, Blindspot) plays Brian Zeller, a crime scene investigator and a member of Jack Crawford's special unite. A sharp member of CSI crew, Brian is also the most prone to keeping things light and providing some comedic relief when things get too heavy for the team. He does end up giving Freddie some information on Will, ostensibly out of jealousy, which helps the friction between Freddie and Will grow.

Bedelia Du Maurier (Gillian Anderson)

First Appearance: "Sorbet" (Season 1, Episode 7)

Last Appearance: "The Wrath of the Lamb" (Season 3, Episode 13)

Gillian Anderson (Sex Education, The X-Files) played Bedelia Du Maurier, Hannibal Lecter's psychologist. Bedelia is a reluctant ally of Lecter's for a brief time before ultimately coming to trust Will's assessment of the doctor's darker nature. Bedelia and Hannibal spar many times throughout all three seasons of Hannibal, with their relationship heightening to dark and complex levels in Season 3. In the end, Bedelia gifts Hannibal with something only he, a cannibal, could value – and you'll have to watch to find out because I sure as heck won't be spoiling it for you.

Frederick Chilton (Raúl Esparza)

First Appearance: "Entrée" (Season 1, Episode 6)

Last Appearance: "The Wrath of the Lamb" (Season 3, Episode 13)

Raúl Esparza (Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, BoJack Horseman) plays Frederick Chilton, a general administrator at the Baltimore State Hospital for the Criminally Insane. A fairly creepy dude himself, Chilton is especially fascinated with the inner workings of his patients. He is responsible for taking in Abel Gideon (Eddie Izzard), who believes himself to be the Chesapeake Ripper serial killer, in Season 1. In Season 2, Chilton oversees the treatment of Will Graham, who is admitted to the BSHCI after Will is believed to have committed a series of murders. Season 3 sees Chilton sustains truly gruesome injuries at the hands of Francis Dolarhyde after writing a fictional psychological profile for publication about the serial killer and being physically forced to recant it.

Abigail Hobbs (Kacey Rohl)

First Appearance: "Apéritif" (Season 1, Episode 1)

Last Appearance: "And the Woman Clothed With the Sun" (Season 3, Episode 9)

Kacey Rohl (Arrow, The Magicians) plays Abigail Hobbs, daughter of Garrett Jacob Hobbs, a.k.a. the serial killer known as the Minnesota Shrike. Abigail shoulders the burdens of her father's crimes and how his subtly sociopathic teachings may have been passed on to her. In the wake of her parents' death, Abigail deals with her past by seeking counsel from Dr. Lecter and working on a tell-all book with Freddie Lounds. In Season 2, Abigail is fully under the control of Dr. Lecter and it's believed she is kept prisoner in his home as he continues to manipulate her for his own purposes.

Freddie Lounds (Lara Jean Chorostecki)

First Appearance: "Amuse Bouche" (Season 1, Episode 2)

Last Appearance: "The Number of the Beast Is 666" (Season 3, Episode 12)

Lara Jean Chorostecki (Camelot, Designated Survivor) is Freddie Lounds, a tabloid blogger for the site TattleCrime.com. A persistent thorn in the side of Jack Crawford, Freddie always manages to weasel her way into whatever investigation Crawford and his team are looking into. Throughout Season 1, Freddie is deeply invested in the Minnesota Shrike murders and finding fame through sensationalizing the story of Abigail Hobbs, daughter of Gregory Jacob Hobbs, a.k.a. the Minnesota Shrike. In Season 2, Freddie becomes fixated on Will Graham as he grows more unstable, eventually discovering what she believes is a crime scene he is specifically involved in. Freddie does pop up in Season 3, but it's such a fun twist we don't want to spoil it.

Francis Dolarhyde (Richard Armitage)

First Appearance: "The Great Red Dragon" (Season 3, Episode 8)

Last Appearance: "The Wrath of the Lamb" (Season 3, Episode 13)

Richard Armitage (The Hobbit trilogy, Ocean's8) played serial killer Francis Dolarhyde, a.k.a. "The Tooth Fairy." Dolarhyde earns this gruesome nickname due to his killings all taking place at night and the unique bite marks he gives each of his victims. A fixture in Season 3, we see Francis is a loner with an abusive childhood shaping him into a man who believes he must kill (or "change", as he defines it) people in order to become more like the Great Red Dragon described in the William Blake poem "The Great Red Dragon and the Woman Clothed in Sun."

Mason Verger (Michael Pitt & Joe Anderson)

First Appearance: "Naka-Choko" (Michael Pitt; Season 2, Episode 10); "Aperitivo" (Joe Anderson; Season 3, Episode 4)

Last Appearance: "Tome-Wan" (Michael Pitt: Season 2, Episode 12); "Digestivo" ((Joe Anderson; Season 3, Episode 7)

Mason Verger, narcissistic sadist and heir to the Verger Meatpacking Dynasty, is portrayed by Michael Pitt (Funny Games, Boardwalk Empire) in Season 2 and Joe Anderson (TheGrey, Across the Universe) in Season 3. We first learn of Mason through descriptions given by his twin sister, Margot, and his cruelty toward her as they grew up. Mason is revealed to have a particular fondness for pigs, having trained a large number of them to eat human flesh. Mason particular brand of evil immediately clashes with Dr. Lecter's and Lecter ends up giving the Verger heir a psychadelic drug and encouraging him to cut off parts of his face to test for fattiness. By Season 3, Mason has some truly devilish plans worked up in an effort to wipe Will Graham and Lecter from the face of the earth. In the end, Mason's plans backfire and meets a very grim end.

Margot Verger (Katharine Isabelle)

First Appearance: "Su-zakana" (Season 2, Episode 8)

Last Appearance: "The Wrath of the Lambs" (Season 3, Episode 13)

Katharine Isabelle (Ginger Snaps, American Mary) plays Margot Verger, the twin sister of the notorious Mason Verger. Margot has suffered years of abuse at the hands of her brother, bearing both emotional and physical scars from his torture. She begins as a patient of Dr. Lecter's and quickly becomes entangled with other main characters. In an effort to regain control of the Verger family estate, Margot seduces Will Graham in an attempt to become pregnant and produce a male heir which would, in turn, free her from Mason's control. Margot also becomes romantically involved with Dr. Alana Bloom. The couple has a son together and are free from Mason's evil whims following his death.
